JUTA/JCAL Policies

A special offering for members of Jamaica Union of Travellers Association (JUTA) and Jamaica Co-operative of Automobiles & Limousines Tours Limited (JACAL). All members between the ages of 25 and 65 having requisite carriers licence and PPV plates and use the vehicle solely for contract carriage.

If you’re a female between the ages of 25 and 65 and:

Hold a valid driver's licence for at least 2 years
Have had no accidents in the past 2 years and own a vehicle
that is valued over $1,200,000
Use your car for only social domestic and pleasure purposes

Our Superior Lady Policy is the one for you. Take advantage of the extra benefits such as:

Protected No Claim Discount**

Policyholders earning maximum No Claim Discount and who have been insured with us for a period no less than 2 years, will not have their NCD affected for their first claim payment which does not exceed $350,000.00.

Loss of Use

Policyholders are entitled to a maximum of $1,500.00 per day for a maximum of 5 days if their vehicle is laid up as a result of a collision.

Our Private Commercial Motor Policy provides cover for vehicles used to transport your own goods such as tractors, pick-ups, refrigerated trucks etc.

Windscreen Damage:

An insurance policy is a contract between you and an insurance company, in which we promise to take over the financial costs of certain risks. The policy describes the item(s) covered, the risks you are covered against and specifies your rights and responsibilities, along with the terms and limits of the cover. We cannot stop those risks from occurring, but we can help to pay for them when they do.

Medical Expenses:

Immediately Report It To The Police. Be Sure To Advise Them If The Original Documents Were Stolen With The Car.
If The Documents Were Also Stolen, Get A Letter From The Police To Go To The Various Authorities-Collector Of Taxes, Transport Authority, To Obtain Certified Copy Documents.
Report It To Your Insurance Company, Broker Or Agent And Complete The Required Form.
Take The Title, Registration Certificate And Certificate Of Fitness Along With Your Taxpayer Registration Number To The Tax Office To Have The Title Endorsed And Stamped
If You Had Not Yet Received The Title, Go To The Tax Office And Explain That The Vehicle Has Been Stolen So That They Can Expedite It, As You Must Have It Before Your Claim Can Be Settled.
Take All The Documents Along With The Keys If They Were Not Stolen, To The Insurance Company, Broker Or Agent.
If The Above Is Done And There Are No Extenuating Circumstances, Then Your Claim Should Be Settled In Four (4) To Six (6) Weeks. This Time Is Primarily To Allow The Police And Investigator To Investigate Fully And Attempt To Locate The Vehicle.
If The Vehicle Is Found Before The Claim Is Settled And It Is Damaged But Repairable, The Claim Will Then Be Treated As An Accidental Damage Claim And The Vehicle Repaired. You May Be Required To Assist The Police And The Insurance Company In Identifying The Vehicle.
If The Vehicle Is Found After The Claim Has Been Paid, The Vehicle Does Not Belong To You As It Has Already Been Transferred To General Accident. You Would Of Course Have First Option To Purchase.

Free Emergency Roadside Assistance

All our private car policyholders can drive with the assurance of knowing that in the case of breakdown, they can contact REACT for the removal of their vehicle to a safe and secured location. **Roadside assistance for breakdown has a limit of $5,000.00 and is available to third party and commercial policy holders at a nominal price of $1,500.00.

Child Car Seat Coverage

How does it work?

This cover automatically attaches to all private comprehensive policies.

Effective January 1, 2019 child car seats will be automatically covered under all GA Private Comprehensive Policies. What this means is that if your car is in an crash that is NOT considered minor, or if your car is damaged by fire, or stolen and not recovered, you may claim your car seat as damaged and you will be reimbursed up to $15,000 to replace it with a new one of a similar standard. What is a MINOR CRASH? A minor crash is defined as one in which ALL of the following apply:

The vehicle was able to be driven away from the crash site.
The vehicle door nearest the car seat was not damaged.
None of the passengers in the vehicle sustained any injuries in the crash.
If the vehicle has air bags, the air bags did not deploy during the crash; and
There is no visible damage to the car seat.
